It's that time of year where the Iris Lady puts in long hours slaving away in the garden in expectation of reaping rewards in the spring. The bearded irises are all done, but the Pacific Coast ones need their TLC and inevitable rearrangement now. Tuesday we get the first storm of the season coming through, in what is supposed to be an
El Nino year. Last time we had the full fledged El Nino effect there was three inches of water in the basement before it was all over. At least we don't have a 15-year-old who gets to sleep in the living room for months as a result!
