Some BVI Pics

Dara is busily merging her pictures and mine, and making them look better by cropping and straightening. In the meantime, here are some of mine.

Here is the bad ass Boston Whaler babe blasting across North Sound in search of good snorkling.

The deserted beach and crystal clear water on Anegada. We went with four other couples on a full day trip to this island, which is about 15 miles north of Virgin Gorda. We ate lunch at a restaurant on the beach. I had the famous Anegada lobster, supposedly only 20 minutes or so out of the water.

We had some great sailing for four days on this 58 foot boat. Here's the view as we headed back north from Cooper Island in 30 kt winds, with reefed main and jib.

The happy sailor.

A better look at Crystal Clear, the boat we were on.

Dara poses on the porch of our cottage overlooking Bercher's Bay (on the ocean side of the island).

Does it get any more decadent than a pina colada on a deserted palm-fringed beach?

This is a view of North Sound we had when we hiked up to the top of a hill on the Biras Creek property. Bitter End is in the background on the right, with Saba Rock being that teeny island above it, followed by Eustacia and Necker. Necker is owned by Richard Branson of Virgin Airlines fame. The other island on the left is Prickly Pear. There is a big reef going all the way around, making the sound very sheltered. North Sound was populated by charter boats and mega-yachts.

Sunrise from our bedroom. About 7AM every morning, we were awake for it!

Great photos. Just as beautiful as I remembered, maybe a little more crowded. We anchored off Necker Island in preparation for taking the Anegada (O my God a!) Passage to St. Martin. Those were the days...

I knew that 1st comment would be Grandma. She's right - those photos are lovely. Love seeing Dara so serious about her snorkeling. She looks like an Aqua-Kenevil. Congrats on getting out of town just in time!

WOW! That looks like one hell of a vacation. If Dara's pics are better than these I can't wait. It has been a long time since I have been to the caribean but looking at those pics I started hearing a steel drum and doing the Rasta Robot.
