Kirsti goes gehtto
Mild mannered Special Ed teacher Kirsti went off on RMA algebra teacher yesterday durring a parent teacher conference. I guess she ran out of patience with excuses of how prepared her class of 6 was when they began her class this year. Kirsti's classes are mainly comprised of hispanic students with learning problems as well as language problems and they all exceed 6 students. Blame for others and excuses for your own shortcomings are not acceptable where she works so she didn't accept them at RMA. I wasn't there but I understand there are some bad feelings btween the 2 of them, I'm not sure what the good news is but the bad news is algebra may have just gotten a little harder for Dan, if thats possible.

When Kyla took geometry in high school, it was from the head of the math department. He was just a bad teacher. When both Kyla and the other future valedictorian in the class had similar issues, we complained, but there really was nothing left to do but grin and bear it in the end. But, I don't think the complaining hurt. It served notice to the teacher that the parents were not having the wool pulled over their eyes, and it made him pay more attention. So, I say: good for Kirsti.
I say good for her too! Math of any kind can be a great subject. With just a little help from a good teacher all those fears people have of math go away and the formulas really work. Instead of encouragement, she just drilled home how much Dan "hates math." What a shame.
