Aesthetically, earthen floors are “really special,” said Frank Meyer, a natural builder who has installed 15 in Austin, Tex. “After a while they look like an old cracked leather couch,” he said. “When people walk in, they don’t say, ‘Oh, nice floor.’ Everyone gets down on their hands and knees to admire it.” Mr. Meyer has used natural pigment to create designs in some floors, and he said some builders add the blood of oxen for maroon coloration.Keith, your designer client (Jimmy, if I remember right) should be all over this trend.

Dirty floors are a thing of the past here since Keith sent the robot vacuum for Xmas. Yesterday I turned it loose in the computer room while I showered, dressed and read the paper. I got back just in time to see it finish up, dock itself and start recharging to be ready for the next job. Ho hum, I'm so overworked.
Earthen floors...BRILLIANT... Sounds expensive, an understated elegance only a few have had the joy to know, of course you have to be carefull not to track in any carpet.
Lol. AJ had a carpeted driveway leading through the tropical foliage on the way to his original sugar shack abode in Hawaii. That's the one Mom and Dad declared would fall down if they killed all the bugs that were holding it together.
